Gaza Flotilla Raid - May 30, 2010, ships from Turkey carrying aid supplies to the blockaded Gaza Strip are boarded by Israeli commandos resulting in nine civilian deaths and provoking international outrage. Not funny.
Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill - An April 20, 2010 explosion on a British Petroleum oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico resulted in one of the largest environmental disasters ever by allowing oil to gush into the ocean for months. Not funny.
U.S. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - It was estimated that in May, 2010, the cost of the two wars the United States had been fighting since 2002 and 2003, respectively, topped a trillion dollars. Only sorta philosophically funny.
shitmydadsays - A Twitter feed started by comedy writer Justin Halpern consisting of quotes made by Halpern's father. Later adapted into a CBS sitcom. The title of the show raised the ire of the Parents Television Council. Really funny.
