 |  Ah, the first
Seven-O-Heaven I ever got (not much) flak about. Can you believe the
Ingomar Club rejected my application for membership? Oh well. After the
first two Seven-O-Heavens were published, my wife Jen informed me that
her grandparents were already cutting the comic out of the paper to
save which made me a little uneasy knowing that this one was coming up.
I had visions of them going to Figuerido's to rent "Eyes Wide Shut"
followed by their eyes exploding in their heads.
It's a good thing a comic strip is held to no standards of journalistic integrity, because this strip is basically just spreading a salacious, unfounded rumor, which, I must admit, was quite a thrill for me. As far as I know, the Carson Mansion does not actually play host to high-class, cult-like orgies, but then again it was a "Mens Only" club up until relatively recently. So, who knows. To be fair, I know a few people who are members, and they seem to be actual humans. And I have eaten dinner there (once). I guess, in deciding to go the direction I did with this, I was just assuming that anyone with enough money to be an Ingomar Club member was most likely mature enough to take a joke. If I'm wrong, they can probably afford to have me killed. Then we're even. -AG |
