     This first strip, is a good example of the type of subject matter that made this strip possible: Absurd Humboldtness. Some Seven-O-Heavens just write themselves. The fact that there is no actual lake in Blue Lake I assume is pretty well known to people who live in Humboldt and I feel it was a good way to introduce the strip since I can't foresee anyone getting offended by the topic (hopefully, that will come later).

     This was part of the first "batch" of strips that Will, Jorgen and I shot and I think it's probably one of the easiest ones to enjoy. thanks to the good, misinformed enthusiasm displayed by Will's character. It's sometimes hard to coax exaggerated expressions out of Willy Clyde. In fact, on several occasions shooting 7OH's he's stated, "I'm not an actor," but I think his performance here is one of his best.
